How instantons could survive the phase transition

چکیده

Instantons at finite temperature consist of dyons, with their masses depending on the asymptotic Polyakov loop. It is shown that the suppression of heavy dyons can explain qualitatively the behavior of the periodic and antiperiodic chiral condensate and the topological susceptibility above the phase transition. c Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike Licence.

Instantons in QCD

We review the theory and phenomenology of instantons in QCD. After a general overview, we provide a pedagogical introduction to semi-classical methods in quantum mechanics and field theory. The main part of the review summarizes our understanding of the instanton liquid in QCD and the role of instantons in generating the spectrum of light hadrons. We also discuss properties of instantons at fin...

Purpose: examining that the postmodern library as a fluid, ambiguous, and “quantum” organization how could be assessed. Methodology: conceptual analysis Findings: Today’s academic libraries face unprecedented challenges developed by the "dynamic of perpetual change". The present environment of unpredictable and perpetual change is not a phase or a period of transition but the new reality. In ...

Instanton Moduli and Brane Creation

We obtain new intersecting 5-brane, string and pp-wave solutions in the heterotic string on a torus and on a K3 manifold. In the former case the 5-brane is supported by YangMills instantons, and in the latter case both the 5-brane and the string are supported by the instantons. The instanton moduli are parameterised by the sizes and locations of the instantons. We exhibit two kinds of phase tra...

Fixed point action and topological charge for SU(2) gauge theory

Instantons in the QCD vacuum can explain the UA(1) problem, and they could be responsible for the low energy hadron and glueball spectrum and the chiral phase transition as well[1]. Instantons have been studied on the lattice for over a decade but these studies have produced about as much controversy as physical results. The problems are three-fold: 1) Instantons are not conserved by topology o...

We present arguments suggesting that large size overlapping instantons are the driving mechanism of the confinement-deconfinement phase transition at nonzero chemical potential μ. The arguments are based on the picture that instantons at very large chemical potential in the weak coupling regime are localized configurations with finite size ρ ∼ μ. At the same time, the same instantons at smaller...
